Parent Registry - Read More Below!

This is new for Warrick County parents.  Please read!  The link is below, along with information regarding the site.

The registry is a tool provided by the Warrick County Communities That Care Coalition & Youth First, Inc. and a component of the ‘Parents Who Host, Lose the Most, don’t be a party to teenage drinking’ campaign. ‘Parents Who Host, Lose The Most’ educates parents/caregivers about the health and safety risks of serving alcohol at teen house parties and increases awareness of and compliance with state underage drinking laws.
The purpose of the registry is to provide parents the ability to communicate with each other when their teens are at other teen’s homes and/or planning to attend parties. An important piece of the Parents in Partnership registry is the Parent Pledge. Parents pledge not to host underage drinking parties and to support other parents who also make the pledge.
By joining and signing the pledge, parents will be able to access the contact information of other parents who joined the registry. The pledge and registry is not a contract or guarantee that underage drinking will not occur.
All parent and youth contact information remains confidential with the Program Coordinator at Youth First, Inc. as the administrator of the registry.

Anti-Bullying Speaker Coming to BMS Oct. 9th!

BMS has an outstanding anti-bullying speaker coming on Oct. 9th. See below for more information on Corey Jones.

“We All Matter” and “Working Together” are just a few of the messages that are emphasized during Corey’s Anti-Bullying Presentation. Put a stop to Bullying by taking action thru “Applying Kindness” and accepting others.  Everybody within your school “matters” and we can’t be “our” best without “you”. Students will be entertained and engaged while learning that working as a “team” will create a fun/safe learning environment.

The BMS Panthers are looking forward to hearing his message and then following-up with anti-bullying lessons.

ISTEP information!

We are just a few weeks from ISTEP testing. Testing will start at BMS the week of March 4th. We want all our students to do their very best. As a parent, you can help by encouraging your student to work hard on the test. Remind them that ISTEP is a great way for them to prove all the hard work they have done this year.

Simple steps to help at home are:
Plenty of rest the week of ISTEP
A nutritious breakfast, each morning
Positive words from you. :-)
Reminding student to read directions carefully.

Below is a link to information about ISTEP+, by grade level.
