ATTENTION PARENTS OF 8TH GRADERS: We would like to invite you to help with a special event coming up for our 8th grade students. The REALITY STORE will be Wednesday, October 22nd, from 8:00 - 2:00. The event will be held in our gymnasium and we will need lots of volunteers! The goal of the REALITY STORE is to help 8th grade students learn basic skills in financial planning, goal setting, and decision making. We would also hope that the event helps them clarify some of their personal career expectations as well as motivate them to stay in school. The students have a number of booths (manned by parents and other volunteers from the community) to stop at....including Uncle Sam, Car Sales, Grocery Store, Bank, Vacation Planning, etc. Hopefully, they will make good use of their money! Annual salaries and a "checkbook" are issued to students before they begin going to the booths.
